This workshop is for active workplace literacy practitioners and managers.
This workshop will provide specialised professional development on workplace teaching and learning pedagogies, programme design and project management. The workshop includes 4 modules providing high content instruction, resources and activities. One module includes blended delivery.
Description
This workshop includes the following modules:
- Engaging business and sustainability
- Stakeholder engagement is vital to workplace literacy programme success; ensuring early and continued internal support for provision underpins action planning towards self-sustaining development. This module investigates how to build these processes into programme management.
- Learning outcomes and assessment
- Managing and reporting on individual and business outcomes is essential. Finding effective ways to identify and report progress is the focus of this module.
- Questioning skills
- This module builds skills in shaping rich questions and understanding questioning techniques to strengthen training and development processes.
- Sequencing numeracy learning
- This module identifies ways to sequence a programme of learning to build specific numeracy skills. Drawing on assessment results and workplace numeracy demands this module considers skill development, activities, timing and practice.
Outcomes
By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
- Engage workplaces in sustainability discussions and planning
- Facilitate stakeholder expectations of workplace learning and assessment
- Use rich, critical questioning skills
- Sequence numeracy learning from individual starting point to meet workplace demands
