Audience and Delivery
This workshop is for active workplace literacy practitioners and managers.
This workshop will provide specialised professional development on workplace teaching and learning pedagogies, programme design and project management. The workshop includes four modules providing high content instruction, resources and activities. One module includes blended delivery.
Description
This workshop includes the following modules:
- Digital technologies and learning design
- This module investigates what digital technologies are, what possibilities they offer the teaching and learning process and how they can be incorporated into learning design.
- Oral language enrichment
- Oral language skills are often central to workplace demand, this module investigates ways to increase oral language skill building within a content-rich working and learning environment.
- Lean manufacturing and literacy and numeracy
- This module explores ways to enable lean and competitive manufacturing processes with an embedded approach.
- Teaching measurement and analysing charts and graphs
- Workplace data is often represented in chart and graph formats. This module considers the underpinning skills required and the sequence of learning needed to meet the demand.
Outcomes
By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
- Engage blended learning strategies into programme delivery
- Develop oral language skills through sentence and paragraph enrichment
- Identify opportunities for global conversations using local workplace products and processes
- Use workplace texts for developing data analysis techniques
