Professional Development

Building the capability of the sector through the provision of focused professional learning opportunities is central to ensuring that literacy and numeracy learning opportunities are of high quality.

This section of the website provides opportunities for educators to build their understanding of effective literacy and numeracy practices by engaging in online learning programmes, enrolling in face to face workshops, reviewing materials from conferences and symposia, and participating in professional learning communities

The webinar series

The webinar series began in March 2010 and comprises a live, online, webinar-based lecture each week. It is free and registrations are open to anyone interested in attending.

Each webinar features a speaker or speakers who are experts in their field. Presentations are provided on a particular topic of current interest (e.g. the use of the assessment tool); or on a particular topic of interest and importance to the sector or sector groups (e.g. effective pedagogy for embedding numeracy).
