TES Key Priority: Improving literacy, language and numeracy and skills outcomes from levels 1-3 study”

“While I hold other qualifications in tertiary teaching and business, the qualification that is of greater significance to me in my professional life right now is my NCALE (Adult Literacy Educator) which I achieved in 2010 “maximising an opportunity” from the TEC re: free scholarships.” I now have an understanding of the literacy professional development that my tutors need to do the job that they do and I have an understanding of the Learning Progressions, strategies, activities, deliberate acts of assessment using explicit resources and embedding.
As CEO of my organisation, I am leading my team in achieving our Literacy & Numeracy Action Plan 2009-2012 and EER (external evaluation and review) of which literacy is a key focus area for our organisation.
