What do we say and how do we say it?

This webinar helps you:

  1. Discover the many speaking frames used on your course
  2. Complete a speaking frame grid then map the speaking demands of your course
  3. Assess your learners speaking skills against the demands
  4. Decide what speaking activities to embed; knowing what to do (KWTD) is made easier by using speaking frames

Speaking frames is a fabulous way to throw light on the way we speak, why we speak, what we say exactly and how interactive listening and speaking skills are also involved.

Claire Ashmore

Literacy Team Leader

Claire initially worked as a primary school teacher in rural New Zealand, and went on to teach English in several countries in Asia. On her return, Claire investigated adult literacy programmes in Vanuatu and their relationship to government policy.

Claire then taught English as a Second Language at two New Zealand universities where she specialised in writing skills. This led on to her work in materials design and development for school administrators in America, public school teachers in China and in South Korea and for the US military based in Korea

In Auckland, Claire was delivering the NCALE (voc) at Workbase across a wide range of vocational contexts, and is now a developer for the National Centre of Literacy and Numeracy for Adults – inspiring potential!
